i’m looking for work & i need your help!

i hope/believe that the wonderful people who read my emails will be able to help me find it

the shortest way to put it: i do communications for digital products, with style and taste

i help companies figure out what to tell to the outside world; what, and how. what’s the story. what’s the feeling. some people call it strategy, some product marketing, some branding, some narrative/storytelling. whatever. these are just words

if you’ve been following untitled map app, you’ve seen what my work looks like. for a bit of namedropping, i’ve done this for companies like Contentful, Prismic, Pitch, and many many others

i can produce a landing page, from blank sheet to production. i can run a workshop to figure out product positioning & messaging. i can develop brand personality & tone of voice. i can research a rabbit hole & return with interesting discoveries. i can write clever ads, funny tweets, ambitious manifestos, and much much more

of course, all marketing is ultimately sales, or “salesmanship in print” as David Ogilvy elegantly put it. but:

(1) people don't like being bluntly sold to,

(2) it doesn't mean that marketing needs to be salesy, or dull, or bland,

(3) you still can, and should, have some personality, some fun, some truth. it’s the truth that gets people to pay attention

and sure you can be all cynical about this, but good sales is telling the truth. i suppose i can do this rather well

i’ll be thrilled to work with people who share these sentiments, or at least some of them. i’m open to any arrangements, from short-term small projects and consulting work to more long-term commitments. it would be incredible to work on something meaningful that aligns with my personal interests and values too. mostly i just want to help good people bring their work out into the world

some words to describe possibly ideal collaborators: early-stage, small teams, quick iterations, high ambition, innovative products, high degree of critical thinking, high quality bar. developer tools, creative tools, collaboration tools, productivity, mental health, research, making, knowledge, learning.
